  1. AEnsure the bare minimum level of remuneration or wage for labour with different levels of skills.
  2. BRaise incomes and employment for the poor by creating additional assets and by means of work generation.
  3. CProvide minimum basic amenities to people through public expenditure on social consumption needs.
  4. DGrowth-oriented approach with the expectation that economic growth would trickle down to the poor.

Concept: India's anti-poverty strategy (NCERT Indian Economic Development) follows three approaches.

  1. Approach 1: growth-oriented – economic growth will 'trickle down' to the poor.
  2. Approach 2: specific poverty-alleviation programmes – raise income and employment by creating assets and work generation (e.g., MGNREGA).
  3. Approach 3: provide minimum basic amenities (food, health, education, housing) through public expenditure on social consumption.
  4. Fixing a minimum wage for different skill levels is a labour-law measure, not one of these three approaches.

Trick: Three approaches = Growth – Jobs/assets – Basic amenities.

Answer: (A) Ensure the bare minimum level of remuneration or wage for labour with different levels of skills.

Q51.
Evaluate:
31+15+97+7+4
31+15+97+7+4
  1. A5
  2. B9
  3. C4
  4. D6

Concept: Simplify a nested root from the innermost bracket outward.

  1. 4=2, so 7+2=9 and 9=3.
  2. 97+3=100, 100=10.
  3. 15+10=25, 25=5.
  4. 31+5=36, 36=6.

Trick: Each step gives a perfect square – if a step does not, recheck the arithmetic.

Answer: (D) 6

Concept: Treat each letter position as a separate series.

  1. 1st letters: E, C, A, Y, W → each −2 → U.
  2. 2nd letters: D, B, Z, X, V → each −2 → T.
  3. 3rd letters: G, E, C, A, Y → each −2 → W.

Trick: All three positions move back by 2 (wrapping A → Y).

Answer: (C) UTW

  1. पहले अक्षर: E, C, A, Y, W → हर बार −2 → U।
  3. तीसरे अक्षर: G, E, C, A, Y → हर बार −2 → W।
