Q1.
Choose the one word substitute for the below sentence.
Susan asked her husband, a person who is highly knowledgeable in a particular field?
  1. AAmateur
  2. BNovice
  3. CExpert
  4. DProdigy
Show answer

Concept: Pick the word that names a person with deep, specialised knowledge.

  1. Key clue: highly knowledgeable in a particular field.
  2. Expert = a specialist who has mastered one subject.
  3. Amateur = does it as a hobby; Novice = a beginner; Prodigy = an unusually gifted child – none means 'specialist'.

Trick: Amateur and Novice are the opposites of Expert – strike them out first; Prodigy is about age + talent, not field knowledge.

Answer: (C) Expert

  1. संकेत: highly knowledgeable in a particular field।

(C) Expert

Q26.
In this type of questions, question is provided with substitutes for various mathematical symbols, followed by a question involving calculation of an expression or choosing the correct/incorrect equation. You have to put the real signs in the given equation and then solve the questions as required. If '*' stands for ' C ', ' $ ' stands for ' × ', '!' stands for '÷', '~' stands for '+', then find the value of: 24!9∗4∗6= ?
  1. A−223
  2. B−253
  3. C−213
  4. D−273
Show answer

Concept: Replace each symbol by its real sign, then apply BODMAS (÷ before −).

  1. '!' = ÷ and '*' = − → 24 ÷ 9 − 4 − 6.
  2. 24 ÷ 9 = 8/3.
  3. 8/3 − 10 = (8 − 30)/3 = −22/3.

Trick: Combine all subtractions first (4 + 6 = 10), then one step: 8/3 − 10.

Answer: (A) −22/3

उत्तर: (A) −22/3

Q51.
An article sold for Rs. 960 after a discount of 20%. What was the marked price?
  1. ARs. 1250
  2. BRs. 1100
  3. CRs. 1200
  4. DRs. 1000
Show answer

Concept: After d% discount, SP = (100 − d)% of MP.

  1. 20% off → SP is 80% of MP.
  2. 80% of MP = ₹960.
  3. MP = 960 × 100/80 = 960 × 5/4 = ₹1200.

Trick: 20% = 1/5 off → SP = 4/5 MP → MP = 960 × 5/4 = 1200 in one line.

Answer: (C) Rs. 1200

  2. MP का 80% = ₹960
  3. MP = 960 × 5/4 = ₹1200

ट्रिक: 20% = 1/5 → SP = MP का 4/5 → MP = 960 × 5/4 = 1200।

उत्तर: (C) ₹1200

Among the rulers of the Chola dynasty, who is widely regarded as the most powerful and influential monarch?
  1. AVijayalaya Chola
  2. BKulothunga Chola I
  3. CRajaraja I
  4. DParantaka I
Show answer

Concept: The peak of Chola power came under Rajaraja I and his son Rajendra I.

  1. Rajaraja I (c. 985–1014 CE) conquered the Cheras, Pandyas and northern Sri Lanka and built a strong navy.
  2. He built the Brihadeeswara temple, Thanjavur (UNESCO site).
  3. Vijayalaya only founded the line; Parantaka I was defeated at Takkolam; Kulothunga I came after the peak.

Trick: Founder (Vijayalaya) ≠ greatest. Remember 'Raja-raja' = 'king of kings'.

Answer: (C) Rajaraja I

(C) Rajaraja I
