Q1.
A square sheet of paper is folded along the dotted line successively along the directions shown and is then punched after the last fold. How would the paper look when unfolded ?

कागज की एक वर्गाकार शीट को बिंदुदार रेखा के अनुदिश दर्शाई गई दिशाओं में क्रमशः मोड़ा जाता है और अंतिम मोड़ के बाद उसमें छेद किया जाता है। खोलने पर कागज कैसा दिखाई देगा?
figure
  1. Afigure
  2. Bfigure
  3. Cfigure
  4. Dfigure
Show answer

Concept: Every fold works like a mirror: unfolding copies each hole to the opposite side of the fold line.

  1. The sheet is folded once along the vertical line, left half over the right half.
  2. One hole is punched in the folded (right) part, at mid-height.
  3. Opening the fold reflects that hole into the left half at the same height and the same distance from the centre line.
  4. So the open sheet shows 2 holes in one horizontal line, symmetric about the vertical centre.

Trick: Count holes first: 1 fold × 1 punch = 2 holes. Reject any option with a different count or holes at different heights.

Answer: (B)

Q21.
Who is the Principal Secretary to PM Modi as of September 2024 ?
सितंबर 2024 तक प्रधानमंत्री Modi के प्रधान सचिव (Principal Secretary) कौन हैं ?
  1. AManoj Gupta
  2. BShivshankar Menon
  3. CPK Mishra
  4. DKataragama Menon
Show answer

Concept: Key officials of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

  1. Dr P.K. (Pramod Kumar) Mishra became Principal Secretary to PM Narendra Modi in September 2019 and continued in 2024.
  2. He is a retired Gujarat-cadre IAS officer.
  3. Shivshankar Menon was National Security Adviser under Dr Manmohan Singh – not this post.

Yaad rakhein: Current NSA: Ajit Doval; Principal Secretary-2 to the PM (appointed 2025): Shaktikanta Das.

Answer: (C) PK Mishra

(C) PK Mishra

Q41.
The average weight of Mukund, Sachin and Chetan is 46 kg. If the average weight of Mukund and Sachin be 39 kg and that of Sachin and Chetan be 45 kg, then the weight of Sachin (in kg) is:
मुकुंद, सचिन और चेतन का औसत भार 46 kg है। यदि मुकुंद और सचिन का औसत भार 39 kg है तथा सचिन और चेतन का औसत भार 45 kg है, तो सचिन का भार (kg में) है:
  1. A50
  2. B45
  3. C40
  4. D30
Show answer

Concept: Turn every average into a sum (sum = average × count).

  1. M + S + C = 3 × 46 = 138 kg.
  2. M + S = 2 × 39 = 78; S + C = 2 × 45 = 90.
  3. (M + S) + (S + C) = 168 = 138 + S → S = 30 kg.

Trick: Sachin appears in both pairs: S = (pair sums) − (total) = 168 − 138 = 30.

Answer: (D) 30

अवधारणा: हर औसत को योग में बदलें (योग = औसत × संख्या)।

हल:

  1. M + S + C = 3 × 46 = 138 किग्रा।
  2. M + S = 2 × 39 = 78; S + C = 2 × 45 = 90।
  3. 78 + 90 = 168 = 138 + S → S = 30 किग्रा।

ट्रिक: सचिन दोनों जोड़ों में है: S = जोड़ों का योग − कुल = 168 − 138 = 30।

उत्तर: (D) 30

Q61.
Select the most appropriate option to fill in the blank.
Throughout our day-to-day interactions, there are ____ when we might choose to keep certain information to ourselves.
  1. Atimings
  2. Bsometimes
  3. Ctimes
  4. Danytime
Show answer

Concept: 'There are' must be followed by a plural noun.

  1. 'There are times when…' = 'on some occasions…' – a fixed expression.
  2. 'Sometimes' and 'anytime' are adverbs, not nouns.
  3. 'Timings' means schedule hours (shop timings) – wrong sense.

Trick: Replace the blank with 'occasions' – the word that matches that slot is 'times'.

Answer: (C) times

अवधारणा: 'There are' के बाद बहुवचन संज्ञा आती है।

हल:

  1. 'There are times when…' = 'कभी-कभी ऐसे मौके होते हैं जब…' – स्थिर अभिव्यक्ति।
  2. 'Sometimes' और 'anytime' क्रियाविशेषण हैं, संज्ञा नहीं।
  3. 'Timings' का अर्थ है निर्धारित समय-सारणी – अर्थ ठीक नहीं।

ट्रिक: रिक्त स्थान में 'occasions' रखकर देखें – उसी अर्थ का शब्द 'times' है।

उत्तर: (C) times

Q81.
‘नीरद’ पर्याय है-
  1. Aसरस्वती का
  2. Bविष्णु का
  3. Cबादल का
  4. Dकमल का
Show answer
