RRB Group D Exam Pattern
The Group D selection has a single Computer Based Test followed by a qualifying Physical Efficiency Test.
Computer Based Test (CBT)

- Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible candidates using a scribe).
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Minimum marks: UR 40%, EWS 40%, OBC-NCL 30%, SC 30%, ST 30%. PwBD may get a 2-mark relaxation.
- Marks are normalised because the CBT runs in many shifts.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates are called for PET at three times the community-wise vacancies, based on CBT merit. PET is qualifying only; no marks are added to merit.

- PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) are exempt from PET. Transgender candidates have a relaxed PET.
- Candidates who fail the weight test do not move on to the run.
Document Verification and Medical
Candidates are called for DV on a 1:1 basis against vacancies, based on CBT merit among those who pass PET, followed by a medical exam for the medical standard of the post.
