RRB JE Salary
Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant are all Pay Level 6 posts under the 7th Central Pay Commission. The initial (basic) pay is ₹35,400 per month, as given in CEN 05/2025 and CEN 04/2026.

Allowances and benefits
- Dearness Allowance (DA), revised from time to time by the Government.
- House Rent Allowance (HRA), which depends on the city of posting.
- Transport Allowance and other allowances as per railway rules.
- Medical facilities, railway passes and the pension scheme in force, as per rules.

Career growth
JEs work in departments like Engineering (Civil), Mechanical, Electrical, S&T and Stores. With service and departmental selections, they can rise to Senior Section Engineer and higher posts as per railway promotion rules.
