Q1.
What is the inflation target set by the Government of India under the Monetary Policy Committee framework until April 2026?
  1. A4% with a tolerance of ±2%±2% की सहनशीलता (tolerance) के साथ 4%
  2. B3% with a tolerance of ±1%±1% की सहनशीलता के साथ 3%
  3. C5% with a tolerance of ±2%±2% की सहनशीलता के साथ 5%
  4. D6% with no specified tolerance
Show answer

Concept: Under the flexible inflation-targeting framework (RBI Act amendment, 2016), the Government, in consultation with RBI, fixes the CPI inflation target every five years.

  1. Target for 2016–21 and again for April 2021 – March 2026: 4% CPI inflation.
  2. Tolerance band: ±2%, i.e. 2% to 6%. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) sets the repo rate to keep inflation in this band.
  3. If inflation stays outside 2–6% for three consecutive quarters, RBI must explain the failure to the Government.

Yaad rakhein: "4 ± 2" – target 4%, band 2% to 6%; MPC has 6 members, Governor has the casting vote.

Answer: (A) 4% with a tolerance of ±2%

(A) 4% with a tolerance of ±2%

Q41.
A shopkeeper fixes the marked price of an item 100% above its cost price. What percentage of discount on marked price should be allowed to gain 88%?
  1. A4%
  2. B6%
  3. C5%
  4. D3%
Show answer

Concept: Take CP = 100. Marked price is 100% above CP, and the required SP comes from the desired gain; discount is the gap between MP and SP as a % of MP.

  1. CP =100⇒ MP =200.
  2. Required SP for 88% gain =188.
  3. Discount =200−188=12; Discount% =12200×100=6%.

Trick: (100+markup)(100−discount)=100(100+gain) → 200(100−d)=18800⇒d=6.

Answer: (B) 6%

ट्रिक: (100+markup)(100−discount)=100(100+gain) → 200(100−d)=18800⇒d=6।

उत्तर: (B) 6%

Q71.
If ‘A’ stands for ‘÷’, ‘B’ stands for ‘×’, ‘C’ stands for ‘+’ and ‘D’ stands for ‘−’, then what will come in place of the question mark (?) in the following equation?
13 B 2 C 6 D 8 A 4 = ?
13 B 2 C 6 D 8 A 4 = ?
  1. A29
  2. B27
  3. C30
  4. D28
Show answer

Concept: Replace each letter by its symbol and then apply BODMAS (÷ and × before + and −).

  1. 13 B 2 C 6 D 8 A 4 becomes 13×2+6−8÷4.
  2. Division first: 8÷4=2; multiplication: 13×2=26.
  3. 26+6−2=30.

Trick: Write the decoded expression fully before calculating – most mistakes come from solving left-to-right instead of BODMAS.

Answer: (C) 30

  1. 13 B 2 C 6 D 8 A 4 बनता है 13×2+6−8÷4।
