Bihar Police Constable Exam Pattern

Status on 4 November 2026: CSBC has not released a new general Constable (Sipahi) notification for 2026. The latest completed cycle is Advt No. 01/2025 (19,838 posts), whose final result came out on 27 May 2026. The figures below are from that cycle.

Written exam (Advt 01/2025)

Offline, pen-and-paper (OMR) objective test
100 questions, 1 mark each, total 100 marks
Duration: 2 hours (12 noon to 2 PM in 2025)
Standard: about Class 10 level (Bihar Board)
Candidates scoring less than 30% are not eligible for the physical test
The written exam is used to shortlist candidates for PET; final merit is prepared from PET marks

The table gives the minimum standards. Faster times, higher jumps and longer throws earn more marks. Minimum shot put distances and the marks scale are given in the official notification.

How the final list is made

In the 2025 cycle, 99,690 candidates qualified in the written exam and were called for PET. The final selection of 19,838 candidates was based on PET performance, followed by document verification and medical checks.
