These rules are from the 2025 notification. A new notification may change them.

Nationality and education

You must be a citizen of India.
You must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognised board by the closing date.
Sons and daughters of Delhi Police personnel, and some posts such as bandsman, bugler, mounted constable, driver and dispatch rider, need only Class 11 pass.
Male candidates must have a valid LMV (motorcycle or car) driving licence on the PE&MT date. A learner's licence is not accepted.

Age limit (as on 1 July 2025)

18 to 25 years, so you must have been born between 2 July 2000 and 1 July 2007.

Sons and daughters of Delhi Police personnel	Up to 29 years
Delhi Police departmental candidates	Up to 40 (UR/EWS), 43 (OBC), 45 (SC/ST)
Ex-servicemen	3 years (UR/EWS), 6 (OBC), 8 (SC/ST), after deducting military service
Widows and divorced or judicially separated women (not remarried)	5 years

Physical measurement

Male	170 cm	81 cm, with at least 4 cm expansion (81 to 85 cm)
Female	157 cm	Not applicable

Hill-area residents, ST candidates and children of Delhi Police personnel get relaxation in height (and chest for men) if they have the right certificate. For example, the male height limit drops to 165 cm and the female limit to 155 cm or 152 cm, depending on the category.

Medical

You need eyesight of 6/12 in both eyes without glasses, and you must not be colour blind. Candidates who have had eye surgery to correct their vision are not eligible. There is no relaxation in these rules. The notice also has rules on tattoos.
