How to Apply for SSC CGL

You can apply for SSC CGL only online, at the official website ssc.gov.in. The application window for CGL 2026 closed on 22 June 2026, and the correction window ran from 29 June to 1 July 2026. Use the steps below for the next cycle.

Steps to apply

1. Go to ssc.gov.in and complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if you have not done it already.
2. Log in with your registration number and password.
3. Open the CGL application form under the "Apply" section and fill in your personal, educational and post-preference details.
4. Choose three exam centres in order of priority, all within the same SSC region.
5. Upload your photograph and signature as the notice requires.
6. Pay the fee online and submit the form. Save and print the confirmation page.

Application fee (CGL 2026)

You can pay the fee through BHIM UPI, net banking or a debit / credit card.

Documents to keep ready

• Aadhaar or another valid photo ID, and the mobile number and email linked to OTR
• Class 10 certificate (for date of birth) and your graduation marksheet / degree
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), PwBD certificate or ESM documents, if applicable
• A recent photograph and your signature in the format given in the notice

Final-year students may apply, but they must hold the degree by the cut-off date (01.08.2026 for CGL 2026).
