Eligibility is different for the two posts in Advt 05/2026. Check the post you are applying for.
Educational qualification

| Assistant Teacher, Primary, Urban | Graduation from a recognised university plus a recognised training qualification such as BTC / D.El.Ed, two-year BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, RCI-recognised special education diploma, four-year B.El.Ed or two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (NCTE 2002) plus a TET pass conducted by the State or Central Government |
| Assistant Teacher, Sambaddh Primary (aided schools) | Graduation from a recognised university plus BTC or D.El.Ed from an NCTE-recognised course plus TET (Classes 1 to 5) by the UP or Central Government |
In practice, the TET must be at the primary level (UPTET Paper I or CTET Paper I).

Other conditions
- You must be an Indian citizen.
- Date of birth is accepted only from your High School (Class 10) or equivalent certificate.
- Reservation benefits are only for domiciled candidates of Uttar Pradesh.
- Selected candidates must give a medical fitness certificate.
